Negative die cuts

In keeping with the jam packed techniques and ideas in the online card class for Clean & Simple, Day 1 also focused on negative die cuts and using the what ordinarily would be the leftovers from die cutting on cards.

Howzzat value for money? Maile Belles desined a card which I totally cased! .. My version is a bit busy ( I think its the Merci paper I chose) but hopefully gets some practice in for using this technique which I love!

I have been using PTU basic white paper which is fab. It's nice and thick and doesnt collapse as a stand-alone card. The sentiment is from SU hostess set 'Afterthughts' and the ribbon is your stock standard white polyester ribbon from the local $2 shop... That Merci paper is a 6x6 pack I got from Big W. They come in single colour packs which is good when you know you want a colour and dont have to make your own designer paper... Oh, and the die is also from PTI 'Wonderful words die collection'. I luurve them and have been using them lots.. especially "Happy" on birthday cards. It can give geat dimension and texture to an otherwise very basic card. Well that was point here! Its always so hard to put my cards next to fab cardmaker's but I'm biting the bullet ... Go easy on me, it was my first go!

Happy stampin!
